I love this piece and I love those synchronous moments that happen in life that let you know you’re right where you need to be💝 also side note I’m currently in Birmingham as my partners from here lol and that Euston back and forth struggle is so real
It’s so true that those moments of synchronicity feeling like a sign telling you you’re in the right place! And I’m sorry that you feel my pain… years ago I saw somebody tweet that Euston is a piece of public performance art designed to punish naughty northerners for moving to London and honestly, I think about it every single time…
So beautifully written, and exactly what I needed to read today. It’s that time of year where pitches and submissions go totally unanswered, but the pressure is on to finish the year strong. Thinking of life as one big draft, with so many chances to edit, helps so much. X
Thank you Greg (and for commenting!) - I am glad you enjoyed it. I was also glad to be reminded of this in the run up to the new year, when we tend to put so much pressure on ourselves to be a new, perfect version of ourselves come January 1st!
Emily you are an amazing writer. One of the things I love about you is that you do not get caught up on technique (which leads to performance and ooh aren't I clever???) but instead you utilise technique to express your authentic, broken/healing self. I feel you’re genuinely thinking of me, the reader, rather than trying to impress anyone. Also I love your honesty. That always outshines writing technique. Always. Keep writing, keep sharing. Xxxx
Thank you for these lovely words! It’s so nice to get such a warm response to the pieces I share here ♥️ I appreciate your comments more than you know!
Really beautiful piece — must keep this top of mind this year.

I’m so glad to hear this, Evelyn ✨ thank you for this lovely comment!
The perfect read for me today, reminding me that the journey is the destination, you know what I mean. Emily would put it much better.
